To The Daily Sun,
A king behaves as if laws do not apply to him. Donald Trump does this repeatedly. He encourages citizens to suppress their opinions by punishing people who criticize him. He does this with lawsuits or by arranging for them to lose their job.
He ignores due process by snatching folks off the street with no evidence they have violated any law. People kidnapped in this way may be subject to cruel and unusual punishments, such as torture.
The Posse Comitatus statute forbids use of the military against our own citizens. Trump sends troops into our communities anyway.
If readers object to a president behaving as if he is a king, consider attending the second “No Kings Day” on Oct. 18. This will be a national protest, with many venues planned per state. Find venues by clicking on a map at a No Kings website or putting a zip code into a search box. The number of events planned will grow from what we see today. The organizers emphasize peaceful protest.
