To The Daily Sun,

I don’t know where James Veverka got his “facts” from but it sure sounds like they came from Hamas terrorists’ propaganda materials designed to incite violence. Israel has never blockaded Gaza; it merely maintained its own security fence to protect its border. Sadly, that defense was breached in the worst possible way with the surprise attack by 3,000 Hamas operatives, who smashed through the border defenses on the Gazan border with Israel and ended up raping, torturing, and murdering 1,200 Israelis and kidnapping another 260 who were taken back to Gaza as hostages.

Before Oct. 7, thousands of work permits were provided to Gazans to work in Israel and earn six times more than they could at home. That probably will never happen again. The Israelis learned a hard lesson. If Israel had a true blockade of Gaza in the past, then they would not have found thousands of weapon stashes in the war going on now and the aggressive attack would not have happened. Egypt also has a fence on the other side of Gaza; they don’t let in terrorists either.

Of course Israelis and Palestinians have different rights, Israel is a democracy whereas the Palestinians live under their own government’s Sharia law enacted by the Hamas leaders and its puppet Palestinian Authority. Laws that say women have no rights, gays are executed, speaking out against their government gets them imprisoned or killed outright.

Thank you, Marc Abear.
