To The Daily Sun,
I want to take this opportunity to thank all of the people and organizations who made this July Fourth celebrating our 250th anniversary such a great success. I sincerely appreciate and thank the staff and employees of the Parks and Recreation Department and Public Works Department for their work to set up and prepare Opechee Park and our beaches for the Fourth and for the work to clean up and get everything back to normal daily operations. Thanks to Tony Felch and participating groups for the annual July 4 parade. I am always thankful for the behind the scenes work of Laconia's Police and Fire departments to be ready to keep our city safe. Thanks to the individuals who decked out their boats and participated in Lake Opechee's boat parade. And I also extend thanks to the many businesses and organizations who all contribute in some way to make July Fourth activities happen for everyone in the region to thoroughly enjoy. Let me also mention the great fireworks display and thanks for those who sponsored it and made that happen ― such a great ending to the day's activities. It is such a pleasure to just enjoy the day and participate with family and friends in all of the things Laconia and our region has to offer. The planning, efforts, and participation of so many in the community for the Fourth every year is so appreciated.
