Scott Davis: Got Lunch! Laconia served 268 families in 15th season

Another great summer of Got Lunch! Laconia has now officially wrapped up with the start of the school year. During our 15th season, we delivered groceries to 268 families with 550 children every Monday for the 10 weeks of school summer vacation. The Got Literacy program also provided wonderful books, magazines, and other literacy materials which were received with excitement by Laconia’s young readers.

The Got Lunch! Laconia program is absolutely amazing and is made possible by many dedicated volunteers, advisory board members, community partners, and business contributors. The Greater Lakes Region Children’s Auction plays a major role as a contributor, along with many business, community, and private donors who have given grants and donations to help make the program happen. 

On behalf of the advisory board of Got Lunch! Laconia, we extend our sincerest appreciation to our major community partners: The Congregational Church of Laconia for the use of its facility, Got Literacy for providing all the children’s books, five local vegetable farmers who provide fresh vegetables weekly, Vista Foods, the NH Food Bank, and Hannaford for being invaluable partners in food procurement. 

Over 100 dedicated volunteers fill key roles in making the Got Lunch! Laconia program happen.

The advisory board is extremely appreciative of the time, energy, and financial contributions given to the program over the past 15 years. These efforts are sincerely appreciated by the families and children who receive supplemental groceries each week.
