To The Daily Sun,
Lake Opechee just had its annual boat parade on July 4 preceding Laconia's great fireworks display. The parade is organized by members of the Lake Opechee Preservation Association as an activity to help celebrate our great country and to have fun on the water along with the other activities happening on the 4th.
Thanks to the Association for making that happen as a (now) annual event. Importantly, I want to sincerely thank all of the people who participated in the parade with some great decorated and patriotic boats. This parade makes for a fun and meaningful event that allows participants to be part of Laconia's festivities. I also truly appreciate the many spectators around the lake enjoying the day with family and friends who waved and cheered us on as we passed by. Enthusiasm is appreciated.
I extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff of Laconia's Public Works, Parks and Recreation Department, and City Council who make our 4th of July a special event with parades and fireworks. It was a great 4th with many things to celebrate.
