Richard Littlefield: He will not be pressured out of Laconia politics altogether

A recent letter writer in opposition of Dawn Johnson says that I may only be fit to serve if I denounce her and the situation she has been in for the last four years.

In light of recent events we need to really look at who espouses racism or antisemitism and hatred.

Look at the NewEngland White Network and the garbage they post online about Black legislators, LGBTQ advocates like Alissandra Murray, and our own Carlos Cardona.

Look at all the rampant campus antisemitism that hardworking graduates of all faiths had to live through.

All the professors that enabled the blocking of Jewish students from their activities and classes with bracelets proving anti-Jewish sentiment.

That is true antisemitism at its core.

Dawn shared a story corresponding with an election gripe she had. She shared something from a website that she admitted to knowing nothing about.

Dawn put out a public apology that wasn't accepted by the people who want her out of politics all together.

I refuse to be pressured in that way.

My commitment to Laconia is very simple, yet means everything to me.

I commit to continue my work in the community with other dedicated residents to stop the spread of division causing hate.

I commit to keeping my 2025 campaign promises as I did in 2020, promises you can find in my recent letters to the editor.

I commit to the kind of flexibility that comes with freedom from party politics and platforms.

I commit to fostering a peaceful coexistence for every Laconia resident.

As always I commit to giving you my time so I can earn your trust and full confidence.

Together we must move forward toward a better day.
