Richard Homsi: Governor’s Island Club members not happy with board of directors

During the past year, two Governor's Island Club board presidents have resigned before their commission expired. Now two board members have also resigned before their commission expired. There is much controversy among concerned members about how the corporation is operated and who has control of spending monies, projects over budget, no accountability, increase in dues, special assessments, etc., to make up for planned mistakes on a daily basis. The newly built clubhouse and function center that can be used by members and rented out to raise money — you can't even fry an egg in the kitchen. How is that a function facility? It makes its many members feel like there's financial bullying. Buyer be aware.
