To The Daily Sun,
My name is Karel Crawford and I am running for state representative in Carroll County District 3.
Just a little back ground about myself, I have called Moultonborough my home for the past 48 years. My husband is a retired New Hampshire State Police Trooper and we have two daughters and three grandchildren.
For 28 years, I have owned Red Hill Driving School and have taught driver education to generations of local students.
Why run again to represent Moultonborough, Tamworth and Madison? I have 38 years of experience with local and state government, Moultonborough school board, the selectboard and 14 years as a NH state representative. This has taught me how local and state government works. We need to fix educational funding, property tax relief and housing costs that are squeezing families all across Carroll County. Local control and spending discipline will work, not new taxes. Protecting our natural resources, and clean lakes with legislation from Concord will help to provide that goal with new laws and funding. With nearly four decades in town and state government, it has taught me how to work across the aisle and actually get things done with good common sense and compromise.
I take the pledge for no income or sales tax and no donor towns, and will continue to stand up for our Second Amendment rights. Budget control and discipline in Concord and municipalities will keep government lean and NH will stay affordable for working families, retirees and small businesses.
Todd Ringlelstein, calling me the “old guard,” is disappointing. Thirty-eight years of government service to my community is called “experience and dedication."
I respectfully ask for support on Nov. 3 and please also vote for Rep. Richard Brown.
Rep. Karel Crawford
