Prudy Morin Veysey: Combat out-of-state interference, be informed and vote

A crucial primary season is upon us, and it is being driven by dangerous outside monies funding extremist Belknap County candidates. Last week, an outside group from Virginia invaded New Hampshire state elections. They are spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to defeat common sense Republicans in our state in favor of Libertarian extremists (that hide in the Republican Party) whom they support. They have gone after common sense candidates Reps. Mike Bordes, Steven Bogert, Matt Coker, and David Nagel. They are supporting extremists Rep. Glenn Aldrich, Barbara Comtois, and Dawn Johnson. Their candidates not only tried to smother our county nursing home, but they also attempted to shut down Gunstock Mountain. In Dawn’s case, she even shared neo-Nazi propaganda.

This group is tied to many odd Libertarian candidates like our current Republican Majority Leader Jason Osborne (who has received money from NH Liberty Alliance) and they may be trying to help Jason with a power play against the current Speaker of the New Hampshire House Sherman Packard and a few others on his leadership team who this group is also targeting. This outside group, called “Make Liberty Win,” is tied to many extremist Libertarian candidates. It is clear that their goal extends well beyond Belknap County to the Belknap County voters who rejected many of these harmful candidates during our last election. Our work is not done.

Don’t be fooled by this Game of Thrones tactic by outside money. Voters should do their homework and vote for those who put the community first, not some weird and dangerous out-of-state agenda.
