Nathaniel Gurien: Support Karishma Manzur for US Senate at Tuesday’s vote

Dr. Karishma Manzur, Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate, is a medical scientist holding a PhD in biochemistry and molecular biology running against a corrupt Democrat in the Sept. 8 primary and will run against a corrupt Republican in November if she wins.

She believes in an end to military support for Israel’s shameful Palestinian genocide, Medicare for all, and castigates the Democratic Party hierarchy’s subservience to corporate lobbyists and the billionaire class. Unlike her Democratic primary opponent who disingenuously claims to reject corporate PAC money but does takes vast sums from party “leadership” PACs and nearly $1 million from AIPAC.

She calls for a massive increase in affordable housing and an end to the buying up of private residences by private equity saying: “Single-family homes are for single families."

She demands an end to the war in Iran, a halt to the nation’s addiction to endless wars and war profiteering.

I’ve known and worked with Karishma for nearly a year and find her very intelligent, refreshingly honest, candid and personable.

A Democrat who represents the people can and will beat a Republican who represents wealthy donors and corporations this November. Vote for Karishma on Sept. 8.
