Mike and Tracey LeClair: Endorsing Mark Lewandoski for Belmont Selectboard

We are writing to strongly endorse Mark Lewandoski, former police chief of the Town of Belmont, for the position of Town Selectboard.

Having known Mark for many years through his outstanding service to our community, we can personally vouch for his exceptional leadership, integrity, and unwavering commitment to Belmont. As police chief, Lewandoski chose a career — not just a job. The role of police chief does not come with a lunch clock or set hours; it demands constant availability, sound judgment, and a deep sense of duty, all of which he delivered day in and day out with professionalism and fairness.

Beyond his law enforcement career, Lewandoski has given countless hours to the area’s youth, particularly through our local hunter safety program. He personally taught our son Jonny in the program 14 years ago, instilling not only essential safety skills but also values of responsibility and respect for our traditions. His volunteer efforts have positively impacted generations of young people in Belmont and surrounding towns.

Mark’s extensive experience managing budgets, personnel, emergency responses, and community relations equips him perfectly for the responsibilities of the selectboard — overseeing the town’s prudential affairs, implementing decisions from Town Meeting, prioritizing public safety, and ensuring responsible stewardship of taxpayer funds. He is approachable, fair-minded, and genuinely invested in Belmont’s future. The Town of Belmont is lucky to have a seasoned veteran like Mark Lewandoski willing to continue serving in this new capacity.
