To The Daily Sun,

As we approach the Nov. 3 election, I want to share a personal perspective on why Jade Wood is the right choice for state representative for Belknap District 6.

I know Jade better than anyone — we have been married for 15 years and share four beautiful children together. Currently, our sons attend Holy Trinity for preschool, while our daughters attend Gilford Middle School and Gilford High School. Next year, when our boys enter kindergarten, Jade will have children in all three Gilford public schools. She is the only candidate in this race with school-aged children, giving her a vital, firsthand stake in our community's future and education system. We often talk about the need for parents to step up to the plate and take a larger role in our community, and Jade is answering that call directly. Here she is, ready to work.

Jade’s dedication to this community was crystal clear during the management resignation period at Gunstock Mountain Resort. While commissioners walked away from the challenges, Jade rolled up her sleeves and worked directly with employees to ensure the mountain continued operating. As vice chair of the Gunstock Area Commission, she successfully guided the mountain through Tom Day’s retirement, transitioning to a new general manager and ensuring Gunstock’s continued success and prosperity.

Furthermore, Jade is a steadfast defender of our wallets. She is firmly against creating a sales or income tax in New Hampshire. Unlike some of her opponents for Belknap 6 who have suggested that "everything is on the table," Jade will protect the New Hampshire Advantage.

Please join me in voting for Jade Wood on Nov. 3. She rolls up her sleeves, does the hard work, and will always put the people of our district first.
