To The Daily Sun,

I would like to thank Mr. Steve Earle for praising my letter to the editor as being “honest, factual.” (I wish all letters to this newspaper were). The aspect of my letter that he did not mention was my statement “support of Israeli nationhood has bipartisan support in the United States and should not be used to support one political movement over another.” He neglected to mention this when he blamed the left for “uneducated, antisemitic lies.” The pro-Palestinian, leftist rhetoric “from the river to the sea,” seems to be just as awful as the statement coming from our former president, “if I lose this election, Jews will be to blame.” Neither of these statement supports my Jewish beliefs.

About every week in synagogue, we read a portion from our Torah (or Hebrew Bible) God telling our people that we should be kind to foreigners since “we were strangers in Egypt.” I wish Mr. Earle, and his conservative colleagues understood this sentiment when it came to their support for right-wing anti-mmigrant policies.
