Robert Ciampa, 77

Robert Ciampa, 77, of New Hampton, passed away on July 29, 2026, in his home of 47 years. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Rob was a skilled carpenter with a deep love of music, nature, animals, and the water.

He was predeceased by his mother, Margery Diggs, stepfather Highland Diggs, sister Beverly Galante, sister Marian Duksta, and brother Richard Ciampa.

Rob is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Rachel Ciampa; brother Peter Andrews; daughter Jodi Passananle and her husband John; son Toby Knowlton and his wife Candace; and son Nicholas Knowlton; as well as his nine grandchildren, Isaiah and wife Sarah, Anna, Jackson, Samuel, Evelin, Zoey, John, Harmony and Elizabeth.

Rob was most happy near water, either the lake or Florida Keys. Each winter Rob made his annual pilgrimage to Florida’s warmer waters. No day was complete without a long swim. He was often found, hidden away with his guitar, immersed in his music, or contemplating quietly in a chair outside with a glass of wine.

Rob was a genuinely great man whose laugh could light up a room and whose enormous heart radiated at every turn; a man who embodied the phrase "love not hate, peace not war." He was a guitar toting carpenter with a zest for life and a love for family.

His legacy of love will live on forever in our hearts. He will be dearly missed.

A celebration of life in honor of Rob will be scheduled at a later date.
