To The Daily Sun,

We are nowhere near Germany's Weimar Republic of the 1930s. In 1930s Germany, a citizen had two sources of news, radio and newspaper. Television reached a very small percentage of the public. It was relatively easy to take over those sources. In modern America, I have access to radio, newspapers, TV, streaming, podcasts and just about every news organization on the planet.

Most of the American media tells me every hour on the hour how evil the president is. Fox news is one voice among a thousand and while it definitely leans right it is more than balanced by the 95% of the media that leans left.

Comparisons to a republic in the 1930s that only existed for 12 years and had no democratic tradition to us aren’t realistic. If liberals want to criticize Donald Trump they’ve got to come up with a comparison that makes sense. Otherwise they are just preaching to the choir.
