To The Daily Sun,

What is a second trimester (14 to 22 weeks) abortion? Dr. Kathi Aultman has performed over 500 abortions and describes the steps on the following website abortionprocedures.com.

Prior to the procedure the cervix is medically dilated, then a suction cannula is used to suck out the amniotic fluid. Due to the size of the fetus he or she must be removed in pieces preferably the arms and legs first. Once the abortionist has a firm grip on a limb it is forcefully pulled off. Piece by piece the fetus is removed until all parts are removed including the placenta. The head at 20 weeks is about the size of a large plum, so to be removed, it must be crushed then the brain leaks out as white fluid. Once all the body parts are removed, the cervix is then scraped or suctioned out to remove remaining pieces. Then the body is re-constructed to make sure that all parts are accounted for to reduce the risk of infection.

The University of Toronto study shows that a fetus at 20 weeks feels greater intensity of pain than that of an adult. For the woman there's risk of major complications, among them are laceration of the uterus or cervix, extreme heavy bleeding, and the potential of not being able to carry a future baby full term.

Medically unnecessary abortions are legal in New Hampshire up to 24 weeks gestation. I support candidates who believe that killing babies without cause is simply wrong. Why aren't we promoting adoption? There are childless couples praying for the opportunity to adopt, who would lovingly give the child a second chance at life.

Children are precious in the eyes of the lord. Vote pro-life.
