To The Daily Sun,

The U.S. is not facing an economic depression because of the Trump tariffs. America is doing pretty well. There’s no economic calamity in sight. We’ve heard since January things like "by the 4th of July ... the economy is going to tank." But, that didn’t happen.

The stock market is at record highs. That’s reality, so maybe we should work from that. Do readers see a country in an economic depression? How do we deal with that fact? That is a fact.

Instead, it’s European leaders fuming about a trade deal signed in July. In the UK it’s being called a humiliation for the continent. The French call it “submission” and a “dark day.” In Germany the chancellor says their economy will experience significant damage but, then again, Donald Trump had the cards.

European leaders fear the worst is yet to come. Ireland and their pharmaceutical industry, which used to be based in the U.S., are bracing. Those factories left the U.S. years ago. Europe is worrying about the new oil and gas deal saying it’ll make them reliant on the U.S. similar to Russia ... a step backwards.

Trump has been clear. Tariffs are a way to reshore U.S. companies, bring them home. They are a path to a working class revival. Trump emphasized, we might go through some pain with tariff implementation, but it’ll be worth it to rebuild the economy.

Have the media and the Socialists given the president and his strategy a fair shake? They have largely trashed the man, his tariffs, and they are furious with anybody saying anything good about either. Just last summer, the majority of Democrats said killing Trump would be partially or fully justifiable. The American Left is incapable of having a rational conversation about Trump’s strategy and its results.
