To The Daily Sun,
At every Statehouse protest I’ve attended this year, including the No Kings protest on June 14, I’ve noticed something striking: the crowd is full of Boomers. And I want to say thanks.
As a millennial raising a young family in New Hampshire, it fills me with hope to see that my parents’ generation is still showing up to defend democracy. It’s a reminder that love of country, community and fairness runs deep in this state.
People often ask me why I chose New Hampshire. I tell them it’s a great place to raise a family. And not surprisingly, everyone agrees. We have strong communities, natural beauty, and neighbors who look out for one another. But lately, these values feel under threat.
Extremist factions are working hard to reshape New Hampshire and the nation. From Free Staters to Project 2025, we’re seeing coordinated efforts to erode public services, strip away rights and sow division. It’s not the direction most working families want.
Thankfully, people of all ages are standing up, but it’s the Boomers who are leading by example. We see them, and we’re grateful.
I hope to see them again at the Fight for Our Future rally on June 24 at the Statehouse. We’re stronger when we show up together.
