To The Daily Sun,
I’m proud to be writing in support of Scott Burns for state representative for the City of Franklin in the upcoming election on Nov. 8.
Scott is collaborative, supportive, direct and knowledgeable. He goes out of his way to connect with his community and understand the issues, both large and small, facing our city and state. He is always willing to communicate with people and help them grow in knowledge.
Scott’s positive work in the community is undeniable. He is a part of numerous organizations and supports a well-rounded, healthy environment — one that extends from natural resources, animals and landscapes to affordable housing, health care, paid leave, and women’s right to choose.
With regard to education in particular, Scott understands the importance of a strong public school system and the financial issues that need to be dealt with in order to support and improve our schools. As a former school board member and advocate for early childhood education as well as additional resources and funding, Scott knows what needs to be done.
Scott grew up in Franklin and has served as a state representative before. He has the expertise and drive to be a strong voice and make a difference for us, and I know he will do just that if elected.
