Leonard Witt: Project 2025: NH breadlines, health insurance failures

New Hampshire is already suffering under President Donald Trump's Project 2025 billionaires-first plan for America.

Some 77,000 New Hampshire senior citizens, including more than 4,000 in Carroll County, have been dropped from their privately insured Medicare Advantage health care plans and are filling up town meetings as they scramble to find alternative plans.

Plus more than 70,000 New Hampshirites are about to lose the federal tax credit subsidizing their Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) insurance plans because the U.S. Senate and House GOP majority refuse to negotiate. Without the tax credits, insurance rates will increase by an estimated 114% or thousands of dollars annually.

Recently 76,000 New Hampshire SNAP recipients, including 2,700 in Carroll County, rushed to pantries across the state to find food for themselves and their children, including infants, after their SNAP payments were put on hold by Trump himself.

Airports cut flights because air traffic controllers were asked to work without pay, while the GOP members of Congress were given a six week vacation. Unlike the air traffic controllers and hundreds of thousands of other federal workers who are working without pay, the vacationing GOP U.S. Congress members were paid with full medical benefits.

This is what the Trump administration’s Project 2025 wants for New Hampshire and all of America. No government programs. Let people take care of themselves and be at the mercy of billionaire owned, heartless multinational corporations and private equity companies.

The early results: federal employees and hardworking, low income families on breadlines; seniors, young adults and families losing or can’t afford health insurance; and airports in chaos.

Project 2025 architects have worked hard to divide us, now the only salvation is for all of readers to work together to save a nation on the brink of civic collapse.
