To The Daily Sun,

Recently there was a letter to the editor complaining about not being able to comment on our new representative’s social media page. That concern seems selectively applied. Why wasn’t a concern raised, long ago, about eight-year Rep. John MacDonald posting political content only on his personal account, where only “friends” can view it?

At least with Rep. Bobbi Boudman, the public can see the posts. In Rep. MacDonald’s case, citizens can’t even access the content unless they are personally approved. If we’re going to talk about “controlling the narrative,” it is far more problematic to block the public from seeing the posts at all.

Note: Rep. Boudman had blocked the letter writer because of threats but has unblocked him and is giving him another chance.
