To The Daily Sun,
I am proud to endorse Carleigh Beriont for Congress in New Hampshire’s First District. I have walked and driven miles with Carleigh, and I have seen firsthand what kind of leader she is: she shows up, she listens, and she steps up.
We have stood in the trenches of a nurses’ strike, joined forces to write and speak about the devastating impact of workplace violence in healthcare, and done the unglamorous, heavy lifting required to help feed our food-insecure neighbors. Along the way, we have heard stories that are heartbreaking and, at times, gut-wrenching. Carleigh doesn’t look away. She stays. She listens. She asks questions. And then she looks for ways to help.
Carleigh has been described as a “Happy Warrior” because of her smile, warmth, and affable demeanor. Those qualities are genuine, and they make people feel heard and valued. But don’t mistake kindness for weakness.
I have also seen the other side of Carleigh: a steely, cold resolve when confronted with injustice and problems that demand more than good intentions. She has the courage to step into difficult places, listen to people whose voices are too often ignored, and keep working when the answers aren’t easy.
New Hampshire doesn’t need another politician who simply talks about leadership. We need someone willing to do the work.
Carleigh Beriont is that person. She is compassionate, courageous, and fierce — and I am honored to support her for Congress. She will bring that same determination, grit, and courage to Washington, D.C.
I ask for votes for Carleigh Beriont on Sept. 8.
