To The Daily Sun,
In light of the recent politically motivated assassinations in Minnesota and elsewhere, as a nation, I think we really need to pause and reflect on finding some common ground to bridge the gulf of partisanship in this country. I’m not sure what that may look like, practically speaking. Regardless, we've got to do something. Neither camp is going to abandon their values and deeply held beliefs. With that said, the current trajectory leads us to a dead end. It’s sad that historically, the only way we have united together is when the country goes to war — the American Revolution, World War I, World War II and 9/11. How do we find a path to the same unity without experiencing the tragedy? I'm not sure we can, but I’m open to suggestions. Peace.
