To The Daily Sun,
During my 47 years working in Belknap County law enforcement, I had the pleasure of working with Mike MacFadzen at Laconia Police Department back in the 1980s when he began his career. He was one of the finest young officers that I ever worked with and we have been friends ever since. From the PD, he went on to have a great career with New Hampshire State Police.
When Mike announced that he was running for sheriff, I could not have been happier, having worked for the sheriff's office for 20 years myself. I support Mike wholeheartedly and was curious as to how other law enforcement professionals felt. In the last couple of months I have spoken to many active and retired officers, along with a few chiefs, from a variety of agencies in the county. The overwhelming majority say they will vote for Mike. He is heavily supported.
There are still many fine people working at the sheriff's office but they are in dire need of a change. Join me in giving them that change by voting for Mike MacFadzen in the Sept. 13 primary.
