To The Daily Sun,Â
In reply to a letter pertaining to vehicle inspections, any forced project is subject to graft and price gouging.Â
Two instances I had during inspections. Both were not ethical in my opinion.Â
1. The windshield had a nick the size of a pencil head and I could not believe it flunked inspection. The nick was on the passenger side one inch above the dash and four inches from the right side post. I was told to take my motor vehicle to a glass company.Â
I talked to the installer putting in the new windshield. He noted their reimbursement from the installer to the inspection company.Â
2. Windshield wipers. I had one-sixteenth of an inch separation at the end of the wiper and without asking, the dealer put on new wipers for $48. I asked for the old wipers and put them back on. The following year I forgot to put the new wipers on and the inspector passed the motor vehicle, didn't even mention the wipers.Â
