Jay Wilson: Voting to reelect Tom Ploszaj as NH state rep in District 1

To The Daily Sun,

I hope residents of New Hampton and Center Harbor will join me in reelecting Tom Ploszaj as our state representative. Tom has shown he has the best interests of the residents of our towns in mind every time he casts a vote in the state legislature. Tom is an honorable man who takes the job as our representative very seriously.

Tom took a No Tax pledge against a sales or income tax or other broad-based taxes. He has Second Amendment A rating. He has voted to improve the quality of education for New Hampshire’s children and keep biological males from competing in girls’ sports or entering girls’ bathrooms and locker rooms. Tom has shown he works with all legislators in Concord, no matter the party always with the goal of voting the way the majority of residents of our towns direct him.

His opponent, Amber Schaefer, did not take the No Tax pledge. She wants to reinstate the NH Interest and Dividends Tax, saying it only affects wealthy people in our state. Retired and on a fixed income, I depend on Interest and Dividend payments from my retirement account as a source of income to supplement Social Security. Her stance to bring back that tax will definitely affect the quality of retirement for everyday retired people in our state and shows she is out of touch with those living on fixed incomes. Amber Schaefer has indicated that gun laws should be continually reassessed and has no rating with the NRA. She is against protecting girls’ bathrooms and locker rooms from biological males. We don’t need someone representing us that votes with her own liberal agenda. We need someone who represents the values of the majority of New Hampton and Center Harbor residents.
