Greg Hough is incorrect about due process rights under the Constitution. The due process guarantees of Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments apply to all "persons" not just citizens. Mr. Hough goes to great lengths, cherry picking, attempting to limit rights to citizens but we can expect that from the anti-immigrant extremists from the dark side. The due process clause of the Fourteenth Amendment says "No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws." The courts have consistently affirmed that due process rights extend to all individuals within the jurisdiction of the United States, including non-citizens and undocumented immigrants. The Constitution states that "all persons" are entitled to fair treatment and equal protection under the law when a government seeks to deprive any person of life, liberty, or property. The federal government is violating the rights to speech, press, assembly and petition. It is violating the Fourth, Sixth, Eighth and Fourteenth Amendments. All these rights and guarantees apply to all persons within the jurisdiction of the United States. These violations are why the Donald Trump government lost 91% of the lawsuits brought against it by Democracy Forward during his first term. We are seeing a repeat of this as the government is losing most of the "rights" cases where it is testing the limits of their powers and their reach into our lives. This is how authoritarians work, attacking rights then attacking the judiciary when they lose.
