To The Daily Sun,

Gunstock Acres residents should pay attention to the letters they're getting in the mail about their beach rights and the cost of them. They are trying to raise them to $220 a year. Mind you, we have more houses in Gunstock Acres than we ever had, contributing to these beach rights. The size of the beach has not changed any. We clean it ourselves every year to get it ready. The gate is the same gate. My feeling is, if they want to maintain the road, the mooring field can more than pay for that road because they drive to get to their boats on the road, the same as the beach people do. So why shouldn't they pay the cost? It's not making a profit off the mooring field for them to pay to maintain the gate to get to the mooring field. Or for them to pay the cost of the road maintenance. That is not making a profit off of the mooring field and it is the cheapest mooring field on the whole lake.

Half of us do not even use the beach, but we pay to keep our property values up. I asked readers, why do they keep raising our beach rights, now costing $220 they want this year again hiking it when there's no reason for them to be raising it again? Residents need to show up at the annual meeting about "no to Gunstock Acres to raise the cost of the beach." Ask them why only so many new houses in Gunstock are contributing? What are they doing with all the money they are collecting? I'm asking as a Gunstock Acres owner of a home since 1982 where I remember my beach rights being as cheap as $65.
