To The Daily Sun,

My name is Erika Gray, and I am running for a state representative position for Belknap County District 5 (Laconia, Wards 1, 3, 4, 5, and 6).

I was born and raised in Laconia, and the majority of my extended family was raised — and still resides — here, as well. I work in health care as a licensed nursing assistant, and have also worked in the field of education in the past.

I decided to run for office because I want to make a meaningful difference in the lives of my fellow citizens, particularly the elderly, at-risk youth, and the unhoused population.

I want to help bring prosperity back to the working class instead of the ultra-wealthy.

As a mother of four beautiful girls, ages 25 to 9, I truly know what it means to struggle to stretch a paycheck.

I may be a first-time runner, but what I lack in experience is made up for with my passion for helping those in need. With experienced public servants in my corner, I would be honored to be given the chance to show voters what I can do to make a difference for them.

I look forward to getting the chance to meet with people and hear about what matters most to them.
