To The Daily Sun,

Letters by Lisa Davis and Charles Ajootian in the July 16, issue present no supporting evidence and make false claims.

Davis claims: “Government in Washington suppresses our right to free speech, freedom of the press, and government according to the Constitution. It carries out unlawful search and seizure.”

Davis provides no evidence for these claims. Donald Trump and his administration are attacked repeatedly, e.g., the “no Kings rallies,” the media, and even inaccurate letters; there’s no suppression and unlike under Joe Biden, there’s no censorship.

Davis claims: “... Our state government overrules local governments and destroys free public education.” Local governments can only do what the state allows; that’s our governmental structure, changes can be made democratically. Is free public education destroyed? No, but public education’s poor results drive caring parents to alternatives for their children.

Ajootian falsely claims “the 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments … were and are still hated by American Conservatives …” These amendments were passed overwhelmingly by Republicans over objections from most Democrats. Even Snopes gets this right despite trying to confuse the question (tinyurl.com/v64h7nuh).

The GOP was created in 1854 as an anti-slavery party. The Democrat Party Platform in the 1864 presidential election wanted to end the Civil War without victory and leave slavery in place in the Confederacy (tinyurl.com/mppf5m65).

Democrats founded the KKK, Jim Crow Laws, mostly opposed integration, and the majority opposed most of the Civil Rights and Voting Rights Acts.

Democrats fight to keep many Black people poor and dependent on government by providing poor schooling, poor law enforcement, a welfare system that destroys families, and sanctuary for illegal aliens which aggravates the problems of poor people, e.g., access to jobs, education, housing, safe neighborhoods, healthcare, and other government services.

Republicans oppose all these destructive Democrat Party policies.
