To The Daily Sun,

Meals on Wheels, Senior Companions, Senior Center activities and food pantries. Have readers, their family members or their neighbors been helped by any of these programs?

If so, folks might want to know that some of their elected state representatives want to cut these programs. Is this really the time to cut services to our senior citizens?

The cuts, by the way, are said to reduced taxes by $23 a year. Is that worth it? The folks taxpayers elect to represent them aren’t always make agreeable decisions.

Citizens should call their state representatives today to weigh in on what services them, or those they care about, enjoy and depend on. Lean government is one thing. "No government" is what some of the representatives want.

Society will miss it when it’s gone. Make your voice heard.
