To The Daily Sun,
Let’s give credit where it’s due: Donald Trump keeps his promises.
In 2024, he stood before oil executives at Mar-a-Lago and reportedly told them to raise $1 billion for his campaign in exchange for favorable policy. He promised to “drill, baby, drill.” He promised to kill the windmills. He promised to cancel offshore wind leases and roll back solar development on federal lands.
He delivered on every single one.
Within weeks of taking office, he signed executive orders halting new offshore wind permits, canceling existing leases, stopping solar development on millions of acres of public land, and gutting the clean energy provisions of the Inflation Reduction Act. The wind turbines he called “bird-killing monsters” are now idle or unbuilt. The ocean leases developers paid billions for are void.
Meanwhile, oil company profits have soared. The fossil fuel industry’s return on its political investment has been extraordinary.
And the war windfall Venezuela and now Iran. Defense contractors, weapons manufacturers, and energy suppliers all benefit from the extended conflicts the current administration has enthusiastically funded and prolonged.
Cui bono — who benefits?
Follow the money. It leads to the same donors, the same board rooms, the same bundlers who wrote the checks.
A few people die — a few people get rich. Business as usual in the Trump Administration.
This is not cynicism. This is bookkeeping.
Readers may agree with these policies or they may not. But do not say Donald Trump didn’t tell them exactly what he was going to do, or exactly who he was going to do it for. He made the transaction visible and no one blinked.
The question for New Hampshire voters is simple: were they a part of the deal — or are they paying for it?
