To The Daily Sun,
I think of voting as a bus ride rather than a taxi ride. A taxi takes you to your exact destination for a bigger fare. The bus gets you into the neighborhood, and you walk the rest. I don't need door-to-door service, and in politics I'm not likely to get it anyway. I want a candidate who will win in November and will get us closer to a good destination as a state and a nation.
That's why I'm supporting my Moultonborough neighbor, Christian Urrutia, for Congress, to replace Chris Pappas in New Hampshire's 1st Congressional District. Christian is a progressive, with endorsements from many progressive organizations and NH legislators. He supports Medicare for All, full stop, not the wishy-washy "Medicare for All who want it" that lets politicians dodge fixing healthcare. He is also sensible. He knows he will need many allies to help improve our healthcare services. He is finding them and they are finding him.
Because Christian is a Moultonborough neighbor, I know him better than the other candidates in the CD1 primary and I am plenty impressed with his credentials and his native intelligence. I applaud the fact that his yard signs read "Christian Urrutia, Democrat for Congress." Many of his primary opponents don’t state their political affiliation. At my age, I don't have time for pussyfooting. If a candidate is Democrat, say it and be proud of it. Full stop.
Above all, Christian Urrutia is uniquely qualified to win the general election for CD1 in November. He ticks all the boxes. The crowded Democratic primary field will be his biggest hurdle. But if Democrats choose him in September he will most assuredly become the next Congressman for the 1st District. I’m confident he can’t be beaten in the General Election.
