To The Daily Sun,
For years, I have watched my husband, Cameron Thompson, dedicate his life to helping others. As a paramedic, firefighter, and 911 dispatcher, he has spent countless hours helping people during some of their most difficult moments. Being there when someone needs him is simply who he is.
Now Cameron has decided to bring that same dedication to the New Hampshire Legislature by running for state representative in Belknap County District 8, representing Belmont, Sanbornton, and Tilton.
Neither of us entered this decision lightly. Like many families in our communities, we have full-time jobs, family responsibilities, and busy schedules. Running for office requires sacrifices, but Cameron believes that the people making decisions in Concord should understand the everyday challenges facing working families.
His campaign is entirely self-funded. We made that decision together because Cameron believes public office should be about representing neighbors, listening to their concerns, and doing what is right for the communities we call home.
One of the qualities I admire most about Cameron is his ability to remain calm, think clearly, and make difficult decisions when the stakes are high. His years in emergency services have taught him the importance of assessing situations carefully, exercising sound judgment, and understanding that decisions can have a lasting impact on others.
New Hampshire needs representatives who understand the importance of hard work, accountability, and putting their communities first. I believe Cameron will bring those qualities to Concord.
Away from the uniforms, campaign signs, and public attention, I see the care he puts into our family, the way he treats people, and how seriously he takes his word. Those are the qualities that make me proud to be his wife and confident in the kind of representative he will be. Please join me in voting Cameron Thompson Nov. 3.
