Aug. 15, 1957 — Oct. 9, 2026

Robyn G. Masteller passed away peacefully at her home in Hyannis, Massachusetts, on Oct. 9, 2026, with her loyal goldendoodle, Nelli, by her side.

Robyn grew up in Wellesley, Massachusetts, and spent much of her adult life in Mashpee, overlooking John’s Pond. She later moved to Alton, before making Barnstable her final home.

The youngest of three children, Robyn chose a different path from her older siblings, opting to stay close to her friends rather than attend boarding school. She graduated from Wellesley High School and Lasell College. As a teenager, she could often be found cruising the streets of Wellesley in her mother’s Cadillac convertible, picking up and dropping off friends along the way, all while managing to stop at the local supermarket to buy her mother a quart of milk.

Robyn was, above all, a caregiver. Generous with her time, love, and attention, she had a remarkable way of making others feel cared for. Family always came first, and she devoted herself to those she loved, including her sister, Dianne, and her husband, Carl, during their final years. Her kindness extended well beyond her family to the many people fortunate enough to have her in their lives.

Robyn spent most of her professional career in banking, dedicating her final decades to Meredith Village Savings Bank, where she served as a vice president. She was known for her exceptional attention to detail and the genuine relationships she built with colleagues and clients alike. Her commitment to others was evident in both her professional life and her personal relationships.

Robyn was predeceased by her husband, Carl Masteller II; her sister, Dianne Morford; and her parents, William F. and Barbara Schirmer.

She is survived by her son, Carl Masteller III; his former partner, Shaylyn; her granddaughter, Jordan Dean; her brother, William "Skip" F. Schirmer MD, and his wife, Julie; her nieces, Lauren Caiola and her husband, Bender, Jenna Schirmer, and Lindsey Heidrich and her husband, Ryan; her grandnephew, Reilly; and, of course, her beloved Nelli.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Wellesley, Massachusetts, followed immediately by burial at Newton Cemetery & Arboretum. Flowers may be sent to St. John’s Catholic Church, 9 Glen Road, Wellesley, MA 02481.
