To The Daily Sun,,

Citizens of New Hampton and Center Harbor. Some may be wondering why I am not "knocking on doors" for the campaign for state representative.

Given this pandemic's increasing impact to the region, the risk for both residents as well as myself preclude this activity. I am at very high risk given my multiple myeloma diagnosis (a blood plasma cell cancer), and the treatment that is used to keep it stable. I am status post stem cell transplant in September 2016. This combination ultimately prevents my campaigning door to door. This is for your safety as well as my own.

However, if you have questions or concerns, please feel free to email me: bjosephstaterep@outlook.com. I will try to respond to everyone asap.

One must encourage increased emphasis on mask wearing and social distancing to try to keep this deadly pandemic at bay. Many stores and retail locations are now making masks wearing a requirement to enter their stores. Please respect this requirement. Mask use is the single most public preventive of this virus, per the CDC. Some of us, like myself, ask you to please do so. All of our lives are at stake.
