To The Daily Sun,
The Belmont Selectboard would like to thank everyone for a successful 2026 Town Meeting.
We are grateful to the voters of the Town of Belmont who came out on Election Day, asked thoughtful questions, and engaged directly with their officials. It was a strong turnout, and wonderful to see so many community members participate.
We also extend our sincere appreciation to our Town Administrator; the Town Hall staff; the Building & Grounds crew; department heads; elected and appointed officials; and all town employees for their extensive work in preparing the budget and the ballot, and their work for Election Day. We value everyone’s contributions and their commitment to working cohesively for the best interests of the town.
Our town clerk, her assistants, our moderator, the supervisors of the checklist, and the ballot clerks all put in a long day to ensure a smooth voting experience for everyone.
We appreciate everyone who has served our community and extend a warm welcome to all newly-elected officials and board members.
Lastly, we congratulate Sonny Patten on his “retirement” from the selectboard. Sonny served on the town’s Planning Board as an alternate from 1991 to 1994, a full member from 1994 to 2018, and then on the selectboard from 2018 to 2026. His dedication and service to the Town of Belmont have not gone unrecognized. Please thank him.
