I wanted to write in to be able to praise our local Alton Fire Department for their excellent work in responding to a fire at our neighbor's home on July 29. By the time the fire was discovered it had engulfed their shed and was growing extremely quickly, endangering a thick tree-line as we all watched helplessly.
Alton Fire Dept. responded within minutes, along with the Wolfeboro Fire Dept. arriving to assist as well. They got the fire under control and acted with calm and professionalism. Our entire neighborhood is so grateful to our fire fighters for all that they do and hope they can be recognized in our local news. Thank you to our heroes at the Alton and Wolfeboro Fire Departments!
