To the editor,
As a thoughtful voter I would ask that you think twice before voting for Judy Reever as State Representative. Ms. Reever headed up the NH State Board of Education, and knows how to spend your tax dollars but not how to ask for accountability for the expenditures. Shouldn't we expect better educational scores from the school children after her 12 years as a school board member and 5+ years on the NH State Board? Isn't part of the expenditure of tax dollars by elected and appointed officials to produce a product that shows the money wasn't wasted?
Instead, we have had years of lower and lower scores with little to show for the dollars poured into education. Wouldn't you think that if they had to work to earn this money they would be more accountable to the people? Instead, we have Ms. Reever making excuses in the newspaper for low test scores and explaining how it takes many years to turn around.
Well, she headed up Laconia's School Board for many, many years and then had the control at the State and still she makes excuses. But, as we all know, it isn't all the money she kept pouring into education that will make a difference, it is the expectations that teachers, parents and students will perform their duties and, as in my day, children will become educated.
We need representatives who will consider the citizens and have their best interest at heart and not people who get elected and then forget who voted to put them in such a position as to make and change laws that affect our tax collars.
I would recommend that you look into the candidates' background before voting for them and think of yourself and your fellow citizens taxes. Ask the question "how have you shown concern for the elderly tax dollars being expended without accountability".
Please vote responsibly!
