To the editor,

There is a song entitled "It's the most wonderful time of the year" which refers to Christmas. It is a wonderful time of the year but for some folks, it is a very sad time of the year. Memories of someone that has died this passed year, a mother, father, son, daughter, or friend that is no longer with us. I am not a religious person but I think we need to remember that without Christ there would be no Christmas.

It's wonderful to see all the decorations and listen to the Christmas songs. Unfortunately, Christmas has gotten out of hand and is too commercialized now especially when the decorations start coming out in August! Forget Thanksgiving.

To those families that have lost someone this year, my deepest sympathy. I also lost a dear friend this year.

Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy New Year to all.
