To the editor,

It is very disheartening to see what the Deliberative Session can do. What has happen to democracy, the peoples choice? I put in a petitioned article for the town Warrant (No. 38), with 30 plus voting signatures, to see if the voters would like to change the purpose of an existing future Beach Capital Reserve Fund to maintenance of the present town beach on route 28A.

The majority of the past Beach Committee members felt it was in the best interest of the town to transfer this $25K fund for any possible major repairs to the present town beach in the bay. We worked at this project for over four years through many up hill challenges. Citizens and businesses contributed to this project with funds and support. Things only weather the storms of life if maintained. Hopefully our hard work will not be in vain.

I urge you to vote NO on article No. 38, as it was changed at the Deliberative Session. The intent of the petition was to allow for maintenance of the existing town beach. I owe it to all the signatures on that petition to inform them of the change that has taken place.

A Recreation Facility should stand on it's own merit not sneak in the back door on the tail of another issue. Vote NO on No. 19.

A word to the wise, a petition can be changed in the blink of an eye! This petition was reviewed by Russ Bailey to make sure it would not be misinterpreted.
