To the editor,

Downtown Laconia is alive!

Mainstreet's Outdoor Marketplace is terrific. Last Thursday and every Thursday throughout the summer, local farmers and vendors gather in the parking lot next to the Village Bakery.

Fresh produce, plants, delicious food from the Kevin at the Village Bakery and Ray from the Gourmet Food Barn (it was great to see Ray downtown again)and others were there. There was also photographic work from Kevin Sperl and many other locally produced products. The live music added to what was a great social event.

I had the chance to purchase supper, catch up with a few people I had not seen recently, and enjoy and check out fresh local produce and even meats.

The Marketplace on Thursday and a Muskrat's game on Friday — it doesn't get any better than this!
