To the editor,

When I heard about the hundreds of millions of dollars from shadowy figures that are pouring into NH, I said to a friend, “When it comes right down to it, they are attempting to buy our votes here in NH.” Back in the day, when a politician bought votes, at least the people got some folding money for their pockets!” But not now. Now they ask you to vote for candidates whose platforms are blatantly focused on taking our money and handing it over to the richest, no, not the richest in NH, but the richest top 1-percent somewhere in the world.

This year, you may have to work very hard be able to find information about the excellent group of mainstream candidates, such as Carol Shea Porter, Paul Hodes, Annie Kuster, John Lynch, who have records of caring and working for the rest of us, with this flood of lies, distortions and sheer hypocrisy that is bearing down on us. I suggest that, if you don’t want to lose any representation at all for NH values and NH well-being in elected government, you get to work and find out who is really behind all this money going for mailers and TV ads.

They do promise to cut taxes and cut spending. In fact, that IS the entire platform of the other side this year. They pit us against each other, and watch the fight with glee, raking in the bucks all the while. At the end of the day, we find that it’s someone else’s taxes that are lower, and when someone we care for needs a helping hand, having lost a job, gotten seriously ill, or been injured on the job, we find that’s what got cut.

Get the facts and get out and vote on Nov. 2nd!
