To the editor:

Spending thousands of dollars in the Lakes Region to distort the records and impugn the integrity of local candidates by espousing the party line by some Democrats is unacceptable. It may be S.O.P. along the Beltway in Washington but it does not belong in our districts. To malign Senator Johnson's ethics and to distort Representative Fitzgerald's accomplishments serves no ethical purpose and should be remembered when you cast your vote Nov. 7. I have known Coach Jim Fitzgerald for over 30 years and have had the pleasure of serving with him on the Belknap County Economic Development Council. I have found that he consciously approaches the issues with a bias for positive economic development that will affect all segments of our community. He is a fiscal conservative and a consensus builder who will represent our district well. I am a Republican but I am also supporting Jim Carroll for Belknap County Attorney. I have known him for over 30 years and He, like Coach Fitzgerald, has been involved with children and parents in our community and has made a positive difference that can be measured. Both Coach Fitzgerald and Jim Carroll believe in home is where the heart is and have represented our region in a proactive and positive manner over the years. Kathy Sgambati is claiming to be a fiscal conservative but history will show that she asked for a 27 percent increase in the Health And Human Services budget that would have cost the state almost $300 million. She claims that she will represent our district but of her $70,000 that she reported was raised in campaign funds only 3 percent came from within our district. We need to vote for a candidate that we know will answer to the constituents of District 4 . Please cast your vote for Coach Jim Fitzgerald for your senator.
