To the editor,

With the price of commodities increasing-something that affects each and every one of us day to day-I am looking for a presidential candidate who is doing all he can to lower the costs of natural goods. John

McCain, by proposing to end all agricultural tariffs, and end all farm subsidies, will allow the free market to naturally lower the costs of our ever-important agricultural goods. If McCain wins as president, gone will be the days of special-interest favors and corporate welfare in any form. McCain even opposed the $300-billion farm bill, unlike Obama. While Obama wants to provide billions to subsidize large commercial farms, McCain understands that such subsidies are wasteful, harmful, and artificially drive up the prices of consumer goods.

American farmers do not need the government's help to survive. John McCain proposes to open up foreign markets across the world to American farmers and letting them steer through the dynamic waters of the market on their own, like other businesses. By allowing the market to have its way, McCain is ensuring that we, the voters, will pay the lowest possible price for agricultural goods. That's the beauty of free-market

capitalism and McCain's understands that while Obama-who's hostile to the market at every turn-does not.
