To The Daily Sun,
We must elect leaders who lead by example and are running in the best interests of the residents of Laconia and Belmont, Belknap County, and the State of New Hampshire. Only one candidate for state representative in today’s special election, Steve Whalley, has demonstrated that he will represent EVERY constituent and will respect their hard earned money. Steve made a decision to establish a reasonable budget for his campaign. He has stuck to that budget just as he has done as a businessman and as each of you and your families do with your personal budget. He has spent wisely and insisted that his supporters do so as well. He has refused numerous campaign donations citing the fact that campaign funding has long been out of control. Steve will do the same in the Statehouse and will spend your tax dollars carefully and wisely. On the other hand, his opponent, Charlie St. Clair, and his supporters have spent lavishly on large, colored, splashy advertising. Yet, the Democrats continue to push for campaign finance reform. How hypocritical!
Our state has financial filing deadlines for all money spent on campaigns. Steve Whalley has met every one of those deadlines and been openly transparent with the amount of money spent on his campaign. Charlie St. Clair and some of his supporters have not filed ANY financial reports with the N.H. Secretary of State. Steve will serve New Hampshire in the true New Hampshire way as he and his family have served in their business and in Concord. Charlie St. Clair wants fame and another title added to his name. Charlie will spend YOUR money as he and his supporters have spent on this campaign; out of control. Steve Whalley will go to Concord owing no payback to special interests or any individual. Ask yourself, can Charlie St Clair say the same thing? No!
Steve Whalley will lead by example and will always keep YOUR best interests in mind as your state representative.
It’s a simple choice. Please vote for Steve Whalley for State Representative in all six wards of Laconia today from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and in Belmont at the Belmont Corner Meeting House, 16 Sargent St., next to the Police Station from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
