To the editor,
Hearing and reading about foreign policy arguments between Obama and McCain caused a bit of reaction, being the only true Independent on the face of the earth.
First, I have no true idea what Obama’s foreign relations experience may be but I would have to doubt it would be much more or less than the president today, or the one before him, before they became president; and the military experience of all three could and has been questioned.
Senator McCain on the other hand, having been a U.S. Senator for the past many years and having served his country has had foreign relations experience. Senator McCain along with Senator John Kerry opened the door for President Bill Clinton to lift the embargo and grant international monetary fund’s to the Communist government of Vietnam thus dashing the hopes of MANY POW/MIA families of ever knowing the TRUTH of what happened to their loved ones who were known to be POWs. It was a lesson of McCain foreign/economic policy placed before people and covered by words of “healing and closure”.
For Senator John McCain to debate with anyone the right and wrong of opening the door for economic reasons with Cuba because of its Communist government, is a true picture of “hypocrisy”!
