To the editor,
Lets all turn out on Tuesday the 31st, to vote FOR outlawing electronic signs in Meredith. What makes Meredith a unique village amongst those in the lakes region, is that we have so few of these distractions. We are a rural community, not a panacea for advertising, and pummeling residents and visitors, with yet more "ads" in-your-face. We all get plenty of that material in the mail. Let's not cave in to yet more garbage, which we can't even selectively throw out. These very expensive intrusions into our lives, on a 24-hour basis, are what most of us came to live here year-round to escape from. Meredith is precious, let's not squander what we have in the direction of becoming yet another tinsel town.
