LONDONDERRY — Tesla is coming to Londonderry, opening its first dealership in New Hampshire on Pettengill Road near the Manchester Boston Regional Airport.

The electric vehicle company received approval from the town in November 2023 and it began construction in early spring.

Greater Derry Londonderry Chamber of Commerce President Donna Morris said the Londonderry area, along with other New Hampshire towns on Interstate 93, are ideal locations for businesses in New England. She said she is thrilled that Tesla could see that.

“What an honor that they chose our area,” said Morris. “We have the proximity to Boston and the north country, it’s a great location for people to do business and it’s high praise that Tesla realizes that and the strength of our region.”

The dealership will be 50,180 square feet with offices, a sales area, and service bays at the dealership. According to officials at Tesla, the facility will primarily be a place for people who order cars to pick up their vehicles and have them serviced.

Developers plan to have the project completed by the end of the year.

Town Manager Michael Malaguti said Tesla coming to Londonderry is another feather in the town’s cap when it comes to well-known businesses.

“Over the past decade, this area has seen 4 million square feet of new development, valued around a quarter billion dollars,” Malaguti said. “In Londonderry, we pride ourselves on innovative approaches to planning, zoning, and local government. It is not surprising that an innovative company like Tesla has found a home in a community like Londonderry.”

The project is one of many high-profile projects to come to this area of Londonderry. Other organizations include New Balance, F.W.Webb, Bellavance Beverage and UPS Pratt Whitney.

Morris said this is just the beginning for Southern New Hampshire, and she can’t wait to see and contribute to what comes next.

“This is just the first of many good things to come,” Morris said. “This is the place to watch in the state of New Hampshire for business development.”
