PORTSMOUTH — Portsmouth International Airport at Pease’s air traffic control tower is closed and will remain so until as late as Aug. 3, according to Pease Development Authority officials.

The closure began on Friday, June 19 and was expected to last as long as 45 days, according to John Meehan, the manager for the airport at Pease.

The temporary closure is needed “to facilitate its ongoing rehabilitation project,” according to Meehan.
